Synopsis
Four American counselors at a European summer camp must deal
with the outbreak of a rage-inducing plague among the children they are
supervising.
The four young Americans sign up to work as counsellors in a
remote Spanish camp, but visions of a fun-filled summer quickly fade when one
of them suddenly snaps and attacks the others. Before the groups even realize
what's happening, a rage-inducing virus begins to take hold, spreading rapidly
among the counsellors who must turn on one another if they have any hope of
surviving the night.
The movie follows four American summer camp instructors who
have come over to Spain for work experience. The two males of the group have
worked together previously, but the girls are new to the guys as well as each
other. Sadly for them their summer of fun looks come to an abrupt end when a
mysterious infection hits them and turns them into mindless rage-induced crazy people
who just want to kill.
Prepare yourself for an unforgettable camp experience. It starts off slow and very corny.
ReplyDeleteThis review won’t go into spoiler territory, but there is a twist that hits Summer Camp about halfway through that totally turns the movie on its head. We’ve seen zombie movies.
ReplyDeleteThe film is full of known places and familiar situations; it's predictable and sadly becomes an involuntary comedy that will make you laugh nonstop.
ReplyDeleteUnfolding with the same sense of paranoid derangement as the infection whose ravages it observes, Summer Camp remains deft in its pacing and endless narrative surprises even as its characters become increasingly hobbled by a succession of injuries.
ReplyDeleteMake no mistake, Summer Camp is first and foremost a horror film and has all the elements that will keep you perched on the edge of your seat. Of course, there are a hand-full of laugh out loud moments.
ReplyDeleteSummer Camp is one of those movies you can watch with little to no expectations and come away pleasantly surprised. I have no problem giving this a recommendation and would certainly watch it again.
