Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Synopsis

After the events seen in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Steve Rogers aka. Captain America faces a new obstacle. As the government seeks to regulate all superhuman activity, two sides emerge; to either side with the Captain, or Iron Man who both have opposing views on the matter. This brings about an epic civil war between the former allies.

Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps-one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

With many people fearing the actions of super heroes, the government decides to push for the Hero Registration Act, a law that limits a hero's actions. This results in a division in The Avengers. Iron Man stands with this Act, claiming that their actions must be kept in check otherwise cities will continue to be destroyed, but Captain America feels that saving the world is daring enough and that they cannot rely on the government to protect the world. This escalates into an all-out war between Team Iron Man (Iron Man, Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow, War Machine, and Spiderman) and Team Captain America (Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Falcon, Sharon Carter, Scarlett Witch, Hawkeye, and Ant Man) while a new villain emerges.

  1. I loved every scene in this film. The action is amazing, it’s good to see Chris Evans again as Capitan America, well he is tony stark and I actually loved him this film more than in his own movies. Visual effects are amazing and the battles are really good. I thought that marvel will never do a very good movie like it was winter soldier, but I was wrong, I was totally wrong I don't like to compare, but I enjoy this film more than batman vs superman.

  2. At no point during Captain America: Civil War does one character seem "more right" than the other, and it's a remarkable achievement. Everything the filmmakers and cast members said about audiences being truly divided turns out to be true.

  3. Tony Stark has been coming to this realization that there needs to be some sort of check in place for a while now, especially after he was sort of responsible for Ultron existing in the first place.

As for Captain America, he doesn’t blindly follow authority. He is a champion of freedom and democracy above anything else. Being a patriot doesn’t mean doing what your government tells you. It’s the people who have the power, not the government. We need leaders and decision makers in the political arena, but the moment those decisions infringe on our rights is the moment we must take action.

  4. It was alright but infinity wars are going to be great with superior villains. Spiderman was goofy but he kicked some ass. He almost has the same strength of the Captain America but he is more agile. I like the fact that he is not the typical serious super hero like the Captain America and the rest of the avengers.

  5. There was a good balance of action, characters, and plot. Spider-Man and Black Panther were spot on. Great Performances and Black Panther was very well woven into the story. Finally a villain that wasn't a clone of the hero and that was thinking and planning. It was refreshing to have a bad guy with a plan, a brain, and character motivation. Wish they had given us a little more time with the bad guy to really show the depth they were building. Looking forward to the Spider-Man and Black Panther films. The Airport scene was fun and everyone had a moment or two to shine.

The early action sequences were not shot or edited well. People in the theater were actually complaining about the shaky camera work and sense of disorientation, even when a fight was mostly static. The sense of distance and time in the film feels off for most the movie.

  7. The fight choreography was amazing, on par with the winter soldier, and the airport battle has to be one of the best action scenes of all times. It was honestly incredible.

While slightly overlong, this movie is bright, creative, insightful, affecting and, above all else, fun.

The movie was fantastic. I think the screenplay was flawless and every single thing in the movie was reasonable.

  8. This satisfying adventure is rich with the things Marvel comics always did best: critiquing the consequences of power in explosive, four-color form.

It's a long, rich movie, neither too jokey nor too ponderous. Stark's own self-satisfied bluster doesn't hide his sorrows.

On par with the recent Avengers combo films, but quite inferior to the prior Captain America outing.
