An ancient portal has opened and the nations of earth have to
collaborate to fight against the return of a ruthless alien species.
Ill-prepared Earth works on an immense defense programme using recovered alien
technology to protect the planet. With the devastation brought upon Earth, only
a few brave men and women can possibly save humankind from extinction.
We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY
redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global
catastrophe on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the
nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the
planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented
force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back
from the brink of extinction.
Set 20 years after the original, this sequel sees the nations
of Earth use the alien technology to develop an advanced defense system for the
planet. But nothing can prepare them for an unprecedented force of alien
attackers out for revenge. It’s up to a few brave men and women to save the
world from extraterrestrials once more.
United military forces thought they had defeated the aliens
that threatened to destroy Earth. But it becomes clear that there are more
aliens with an even bigger fleet headed back to finish the job their friends
couldn't. Starring most of the original cast, the sequel also features Liam
Hemsworth as a young pilot, Sela Ward as the president of the United States,
and more. Like the first Independence Day, expect serious action, dangerous
situations, and collateral damage.
Fearful of another attack, the nations of Earth have teamed up against a common enemy - the extraterrestrials that brought their planet to the brink of extinction. Using recovered alien technologies, the Earth coalition is braced for another infiltration.
The special effects in the new Independence Day: Resurgence trailer looks insanely good, a huge improvement over the previous movie.
ReplyDeleteTwo decades after the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. But will mankind's new space defenses be enough?
The speech is cut before the payoff. Pulman’s voice over gives way to the new film’s title slab. Gutsy that, but you worry that the marketing bods are trying to have their cigar and chomp it too.
ReplyDeleteI would have enjoyed that film so much more if they had limited the references to Jurassic Park to just one or two.
There are a few bits where a longer excerpt of a given already-revealed scene plays out, such as Jeff Goldblum and Charlotte Gainsbourg discovering the ship and Bill Pullman possibly making the sacrifice play.
ReplyDeleteActually, if you have watched all the video releases in the past few months you would have known only about 30-45 seconds of that trailer is new footage. The screenshot of the young actors has been in at least 3 videos released by the studio.
The first movie is one of my ultimate weaknesses, I can't flip the channel to see this on and not finish it.
ReplyDeleteAliens destroy America. The world is over, but America wins. The world is saved. Poor story, and no offence.
Remakes, reboots, and sequels to long dormant films are all the rage right now. While Independence Day: Resurgence is definitely playing on a bit nostalgia, it's at least doing it with the original creators along for the ride.
When plans to make a sequel to Independence Day picked up in 2009, both Emmerich and Devlin had wanted to film two movies back-to-back and turn Independence Day into a proper trilogy.
ReplyDeleteA lot can happen in 20 years, and while the official website fills in a few of the gaps, it doesn't tell the whole story. A prequel comic from Titan Comics aims to give us a glimpse of what happened during the last two decades.
