JUDI-JUDI KING BOSS (2016)

Synopsis

Ah Boon and his friends are trying to find some extra money for themselves, so Ah Boon proposes to start an illegal gambling business. Hesitant at first, his friends eventually decide to join him. Ah Boon takes the money from his girlfriend Skye, who thought that he wanted to open a restaurant business for her, but instead he uses it to launch his gambling house. When Skye finds out about it, she gets mad, and he has to find a way for her to forgive him. Meanwhile, at the same area, there is another illegal gambling house. Problems occur when the rival gang`s boss, Kong Aik, warns Ah Boon to shut down his place as he has trespassed their territory but Ah Boon refuses to.

Finding it tough to penetrate the local box-office market with English-language Malaysian films, director Julian Cheah decided to make a truly Malaysian film. His latest, Judi-Judi King Boss does not only feature English, but five other languages spoken in our country – Bahasa Malaysia, Hokkien, Mandarin, Tamil and Punjabi.

The film has six dialects popularly used in Malaysia as well as a multi-racial ensemble cast.

  3. This movie truly brings the multiracial and culture of Asia, where it shows the beauty of Malaysia with various mixture of races. It also shows that even we are born as different races and colours of skin, yet we are still able to mix around as a close friends or family. Different races, but with one same nation in the country. That’s the beauty of the country.
