Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)

Time-traveling agent Valerian and his partner Laureline are sent to investigate a galactic empire. The two spatio-temporal agents travel the universe through space and time on a mission to protect the human species. However, along with the numerous tasks they perform, there is one rule that must be obeyed, that is to never alter the course of events.

Rooted in the classic graphic novel series, Valerian and Laureline- visionary writer/director Luc Besson advances this iconic source material into a contemporary, unique and epic science fiction saga. Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drives Laureline to continuously rebuff him. Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe.

  1. French director Luc Besson was 10 years old when he fell under the spell of Valérian and Laureline. The comic book, which began publication in 1967 and is considered an ancestor of Star Wars and Avatar, tells the adventures of two space agents who solve crimes in intergalactic worlds. The tales so flooded Besson’s brain that they groomed him for young love and the technological challenges of movie-making that would lie ahead.

  2. It's nice to see the spirit of cheerful sci-fi insanity Jupiter Ascending blessed us with being continued.

I hope this is good although I never really like to read comic but when I first saw the animated trailer, it seems nice.
