The only hope for survival is the American embassy, and Jack decides to do whatever it takes to get there. No Escape is actually set in Thailand and appears to be based on the real life events of political unrest that have taken place over the past century.

The film also stars Lake Bell along with child actors Sterling Jerins and Claire Geare who audibly gasped “Wow!” when they entered the after-party at the WP24, and saw the crowd.

Simon Pegg does his best as a downtrodden teacher who is randomly selected by interplanetary beings to have godlike magic powers. He uses these to make his beautiful neighbour (Kate Beckinsale) fall in love with him – and things continue from there. A huge amount of talent here, including Joanna Lumley and Eddie Izzard. Sadly it goes nowhere.
